Every three years, the CPD/A network gathers to bring affiliates and their member leaders together to deepen the relationships that sustain us, define our collective powerbuilding, and meaningfully advance our critical work for justice. This provides a unique opportunity to bring people together from across the network for political education, skill building, narrative work, strategy setting, and to ratify major network decisions when required.

Thinking Critically about Social Media & Mental Health
In order to ensure that there is enough space for ALL organizations to participate with a good size delegation, affiliates can send delegations at the following sizes & price-points:
10 people - $2,500
20 people - $5,000
40 people - $10,000
The maximum delegation size for non-Philadelphia affiliates is 40 participants including staff and members. Affiliates with delegations of 40 may elect to pay for up to 5 additional staff to participate to help manage the delegation, at approximately $1500/person (so $7500 total for 5 additional staff). Unfortunately, at this time, we cannot support delegations of more than 45 people for this event for participants outside of Philadelphia. This includes staff AND members. Affiliates with staff and members in Philadelphia will be able to bring an additional 40 participants for a cost of $200/person provided that those participants do NOT require additional lodging. Factoring children into delegation numbers:
If children are attending the Youth Track (see more below), they DO count towards the 40-person delegation cap. This option is available to children ages 10 and up.
If children are not participating in the Youth Track and will instead be in childcare, they DO NOT count towards the 40-person delegation cap, but they cannot require additional lodging - they will be expected to share a room with the parent or guardian bringing them to the event. Childcare will be available for children ages 14 and under, but children must be out of diapers.
Please share your delegation size with the Network Management Team (firstname.lastname@example.org) as soon as possible if you haven’t already done so. *Please note that this does not include the folx that will come in separately just for the day of action - more on the Action below
The cost to attend will be $250 per adult participant. The costs for children will be as follows:
Under age 10: cost of transportation, plus $50
Between ages 10-14: if not attending youth programming, cost of transportation plus $50. If attending youth programming, just the $250 registration fee
Ages 14 and up: $250 registration fee
With regards to transportation and lodging: CPD/A will ONLY charge registration-based fees for delegation sizes of 40 and under; for delegations this size, the registration fee covers: travel costs to and from Philadelphia, food at the event, and lodging. Unfortunately, we are not able to support delegations of more than 40 people for this event. ACTION - SATURDAY, JULY 22, 2023 While we cannot support delegations of more than 40 people for the whole convention, we ARE encouraging you to bring more folx to the action on Sat, July 22 if you’re within driving distance of Philly.
If you can fill a bus with people, CPD/A can cover the costs of the bus, along with 1-2 meals for the day.
We are NOT able to cover additional lodging for folx who come in just for the action - the expectation is that folx would drive into Philly Saturday morning and leave Saturday afternoon / evening.
If you have any questions about the action at People’s Convention, please reach out to Jennifer Flynn Walker - 917.517.5202.
The registration fee includes costs for travel to and from Philadelphia. CPD/A will be responsible for booking travel for all affiliate participants - that way we can front the costs and individual affiliate organizations won’t need to submit for reimbursement. Given that, rosters with your full participant list will be due at the following dates:
March 31 for delegations that are flying
April 15 for delegations that are busing
Submitting your full roster by these deadlines will ensure that we are able to book travel for your participants at reasonable price-points. Your Network Management Team point will follow up with you to secure the roster for your organization by the above deadlines. We’re asking organizations with a 7-hr drive or shorter to take a bus to the event; participants coming from further away will be flying to the event.
CPD/A will be responsible for securing room blocks based on confirmed delegation sizes at local hotels. More information about lodging will be available in the coming weeks. To mitigate costs, we will be asking participants to share rooms and will inquire about roommate preferences through roster forms. If you have any accessibility needs that we should be aware of for rooming assignments, please include that in the roster form! Children who will be in childcare during the event will be expected to share a room with a parent or guardian and cannot require additional lodging.
Youth are important leaders in the work of our network, and youth participants are expected to integrate throughout all of our programming. However, there will be a separate flier for “youth programming” that will note youth-led or centered workshops, affinity spaces, and other spaces where we anticipate an influx of youth participants. This programming should not be construed as a childcare option. Childcare for young people up to age 14 will be provided separately.
